How to Add Custom Transcript Files in Audion360

Podcast transcripts provide a written version of your episode, making your content more accessible for all listeners, improving searchability, and enhancing discoverability. With Audion360, you can easily add a custom transcript file to your podcast episodes that follows the Podcasting 2.0 specifications. These transcripts will be read by podcast players that support the <podcast:transcript> tag, such as Apple Podcasts and other Podcasting 2.0–compliant apps.

Why Use Podcast Transcripts?

Transcripts help listeners:

  • Follow along if they are hearing-impaired or non-native speakers.
  • Quickly skim and find specific parts of an episode.
  • Search episode content for key terms or quotes.
  • Share excerpts more easily on blogs or social media.

They are especially valuable for podcasts with detailed discussions, interviews, or educational content.

How to Add a Transcript in Audion360

Audion360 supports adding transcript files in VTT or SRT format. You’ll need to create the transcript using third-party software before uploading the transcript in Audion360.

Step 1: Create Your Transcript File

You’ll need a properly time-coded transcript in either WebVTT (VTT) or SubRip (SRT) format.

You can create transcripts with tools such as:

  • Aegisub (Free, cross-platform) → Manual subtitle editor for VTT/SRT files.
  • Otter.ai (Web, paid/free) → Automatic transcription with editing tools.
  • Descript (Mac/Windows, paid) → AI transcription with editing and publishing options.
  • Rev (Web, paid) → Human-generated transcripts with high accuracy.

Make sure to export the final file in .vtt or .srt format.

Step 2: Upload Your Transcript File

Go to your Episode page and scroll down to the Audio section.

Click on Add Transcript, then select and upload your transcript file.

Finally, click Save Episode.

Your transcript is now linked to the episode and will be recognized by podcast players that support transcripts.
